We’re pleased to have you as part of our college community.
Midland’s Online Campus provides a convenient, flexible and modern approach to our excellent academic programs. Synchronous portions of our courses effectively connect students with classmates and faculty. Our online courses takes full advantage of the mutual support provided by a small college, where small class size and personal attention allow a focus on each person as an individual with inherent worth.

Midland is a four-year, liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our mission is to inspire people to learn and lead in the world with purpose. Toward that end, we emphasize the broad liberal education of students, an endeavor founded on our core values of faith, learning, quality, respect, and stewardship. As a college of the Lutheran tradition, we believe that faith and learning are inexorably linked. Moreover, the exploration of faith and religion is an essential human endeavor. We believe we are called to educate morally and ethically responsible citizens of a pluralistic society. In this endeavor, we are guided by the ideas of service, integrity, and mutual respect. Our core values of quality and respect undergird our entire academic program, which provides a learning experience where excellence in all things is valued and expected. We believe that learning is best based on open inquiry and the liberal arts. We believe that such learning is critical to the development of citizens who can respond to an ever-changing world and are fully engaged in a democratic society. Such learning and being in the world comprise the core components of leadership, whether in one’s community or in one’s career. Thus, understanding the responsibility that an education demands to both one’s self and to the human community, a Midland Lutheran College educated person recognizes one’s own gifts and has the courage to use them in service to others.
